Vacationing in the Outer Banks

I know I just mentioned this in a post last week, but I received a few very encouraging comments to a post where I was talking about vacationing in the Outer Banks. Upon taking a closer look at this area, I am even more convinced that this area is almost the perfect vacation spot for my family. If anyone else has vacationed in this area, would you mind chiming in so that I can hear about your experiences? Thank you so much!

We stayed just outside the outerbanks in Elizabeth City when our daughter graduated from the Coast Guard A school. We stayed at a bed and breakfast inn. It was wonderful. We drove to the outerbanks and saw tons and tons of rentals. It would be a fun place to vacation especially with children.
