Do you have a karaoke machine ? We got one years ago and it sits gathering dust. The microphones broke…I replaced them…and the kids broke them again. Maybe I should get new microphones again. The more I think about it, the kids would probably love to sing karaoke again. That’s good, clean fun that they’d enjoy. I should go find all those CD-Gs we have, too. Fun stuff!
Any big Cyber Monday plans? I get paid today, so I may definitely have to scout around to see what awesome deals are out there. I’m not a huge fan of Black Friday…it’s cold here and I hate crowds, so battling the cold and crowds to shop doesn’t do it for me. Cyber Monday is definitely more my style. Besides, what could be better than finding awesome deals in my jammies?!
My hubby has been hard at work lately replacing windows in our bedroom. Boy did they need it. After he finishes, we’ll be painting the trims to match the windows and freshening up with new valances. I’m actually really looking forward to ditching the heavy, formal curtains and going the minimalist route. Less dust and more light! So…now I get to shop…for me, looking for new valances should be every bit as exciting as shopping for Samsung items would be for hubby.
Time to put away all thoughts about best diet pills and turn your thoughts and efforts to Thanksgiving, kids. Yep – less than a week away. Are you ready? Me? NO!
It’s time for a To Do list because I’m starting to get overwhelmed. I’m shopping on Sunday for all the trimmings – then I need to do some serious cooking and cleaning next week. We’ll have 15 for dinner Thursday and then another little gathering again on Sunday…so lots and lots to do.
I also like to keep the little ones busy with Thanksgiving crafts and decorating. They love this time of year, so we need to keep them involved.
Wow – I should be so lucky.
As many of you know, we’ve recently added to our family. Our newest addition is almost 4.5 months old now and life is full and exciting around our house. Often TOO full and exciting, if you know what I mean. Instead of trying to find over the counter diet pills that actually work, I’m juggling seven kids and everything that goes along with managing them and the household.
Now, come to find out that researchers are seeing evidence that the brains of new mothers can and does actually grow in the months after giving birth! How cool is this? They think it is due to the chemicals coursing through a new mother’s body — things like estrogen, oxytocin and prolactin.
If only I thought this was happening to me…
What’s your furniture style? Do you like traditional, contemporary or a modern sofa best? Me…I’ll take my traditional furniture with medium oak and basic lines to create clean and uncluttered rooms. No frills or fancy woodwork, no flounces or extra fabric. I do need lots of pillows, quilts and photos of kids and grandkids to make my house cozy. What works for you?
Why oh why do we have such dental woes? You would think for the amount of time and effort we put into our kids teeth that they would be near perfect. Not so unfortunately. I mean, were not using our teeth as substitutes for custom bottle openers, but nonetheless, the kids just can’t seem to be able to have a dental visit without cavities. Multiply this out by all these kids and it gets rather overwhelming. So now we begin our treks back and forth for filling visits — fun, fun!
Have caught on to the newest craze gripping the peanut gallery? Hold onto your hats…it’s
Silly Bands!
Little bracelets that come in various shapes — princess, bicycles, Beanie Babies…you name it.
Honestly…where do people get these ideas and who decides what’s going to be the next craze? Not quite costume jewelry, but these things are the cheap of the cheap.
Of course, my girls are ga-ga over them. Even my 13 year old “thinks they’re kinda cool.”
Really, I’m wondering if I’m dreaming. Our weather so far this November has been unbelievably nice. Almost wondering if I’m going to have to stop whining about Orlando vacations this winter because we will be warm enough that I can stand being in Wisconsin.
This week we’ve been well into the 70s…can’t complain about that. We’ve even had windows open and kids in shorts.
Are you a do-it-yourselfer? Over the years, hubby and I have enjoyed becoming more and more self sufficient by learning how to do a lot of the things you usually pay to have people do for you. We have both taught ourselves quite a few computer skills that enable us to fix computer problems. Another thing I enjoy is creating graphics and printing materials that we would otherwise pay others to do. I do enjoy browsing around sites, looking at examples of creations. Of course, some printing like this rack card printing can’t be duplicated by someone with inferior equipment. I can do a lot of things, but I can’t come close to this color!
