Yes, my birthday present this year was a gadget. Have I mentioned that I love gadgets? Well, it seems that my cell phone died and nothing was going to bring it back. Not even the very best cell phone booster…my phone has served me well over the past two years and it deserved a decent burial. So…to replace it naturally my first inclination was to find the newest and gadgetyest (is that a word?) phone I could find. I finally settled on the HTC Touch Pro II. I love it! It’s just about every gadget you could want rolled up into one cute little phone!
Daily family life can be so fleeting. This can be especially true when you are caught up in the midst of a fast-paced life. Before you know it, you turn around and your young children are approaching double digits. Then they are teenagers and life really gets interesting. One of the many things I appreciate about my husband is his faithful recording of our children over the years. We have countless memories recorded on tape that our children enjoy watching and we will treasure for years to come. I know digital camcorders are not cheap, but neither are these memories! They are priceless!
I do love gadgets…especially when they save me time or mess! I wanted to introduce you to the latest addition to my gadget family…
The Peanut butter Mixer
We use only natural peanut butter in our home. In fact, we recently began to make our own peanut butter, but that is another story…let me just say…YUM!
But anyway, I have always hated stirring natural peanut butter. As careful as you can be, it seems like there is always an oily mess on the counter to have to clean up. This will absolutely be the case if children are involved in stirring their own peanut butter.
But now…all of that is a thing of the past! This little contraption screws onto the lid of the peanut butter jar for easy and no-mess stirring! I got mine for only $10!

I am just old-fashioned enough to be stubbornly clinging to wearing a watch instead of switching over to using a cell phone or other electronic device for time keeping. I have been observing this trend over recent years and it actually makes me a little sad.
A good watch is not only a reliable time-piece, but it can say something about you. It can be a statement of style and can be a nice accessory to complete an outfit.
I found a site today as I was thinking about all of this. This site was nice to browse through because it was easily organized and finding the watch style and pricing that I was looking for was simple and fast. Their selection was extensive as well. After much consideration and looking, I narrowed it down to the Fendi watches and found this one that I really like:
So…now it’s your turn to weigh in. Are you sticking to a traditional watch for timekeeping or are you switching over to other ways to keep track of the time?

I don’t know about you, but as the years progress and technology advances ever farther I find myself enthralled by the many gadgets they keep coming up with! There just seems to be a never-ending, fascinating selection of little tools and techie helpers that make life a little more interesting.
I was browsing a little today…and here are some of my top picks. What do you think? You like? Are there any on your wish-list that you’d like to try in the new year?
Just look at this little pocket camcorder! The Aiptek A-HD 720P camcorder is very portable and pocketable. It takes 5 MP pictures or 720P high definition video and it retails for under $150.
Sticking this in my purse would be really nice for all of those occasions when the kids do something totally cool and you want to remember it!
Here’s something for everyone who multi-tasks regularly in the kitchen. It’s called a Stir Chef’s Sauce Pan Stirrer and it is a circular device that clamps down onto the rim of a pot…and yes…it stirs your pots for you!
At first I thought this seemed a little over-the-top, but once I really thought about it, I decided that this may actually be a pretty cool thing to try. It adjusts to fit 1.5- and 4.5-quart sauce pans and stirs for up to five hours for continuous stirring or ten hours for intermittent stirring.
For those with a little quiet time, the Sony Reader lets you bring along your latest read wherever you go…in the carpool line or waiting at dance class. The reader can hold about 160 eBooks or loads more if you use an optional removable memory card. It has a six-inch display, weighs 9 ounces, and is 1/3-inches thick.
Here’s a great option for on-the-go entertainment, downloading music and movies or just surfing the ‘net on the go. Play your favorite music, watch a video or surf on the 3.5 inch widescreen display. It has built-in Wi-Fi so you can buy your songs or movies or check email on the go. I have a birthday coming up in a few months, and I may be putting this on my wish-list!
If you go through batteries like we do it can be expensive. We are trying to switch over to rechargeables now, but this little gizmo intrigued me because rechargeables are expensive. With the Battery Xtender you can recharge regular old alkaline batteries. It won’t charge a completely dead battery but you can extend the life of nearly dead batteries by quite a lot. I read that batteries can be recharged multiple times with this. It retails for $39.99.
