Are you itching for a new winter project? As you cast your eyes critically around your home, it might not take long for your gaze to come to rest upon your floors. Yes…it’s not hard to see wear and tear making your flooring start to look tired and worn.
Don’t worry…I’m in the same boat, so I know what it’s like!
How about we take a fun shopping excursion for some new wholesale ceramic tile at rock-bottom prices? Sound good? Of course it does!
If you’re like me, the idea of ceramic tile is very attractive. But, maybe you’re also like me and you don’t know the first thing about selecting ceramic tile. It’s a big step…one that costs money and one that you’re going to have to live with for a number of years. You don’t want to make any mistakes…am I right?
Well… even if you’re not sure exactly what you want, go ahead and look around for wholesale ceramic tile on the Internet. You’ll find online merchants that provide a nice selection of tiles to give you an idea of what is out there. After you look around a little bit from the comfort of your own home, you’ll probably feel more motivated and ready to choose something gorgeous for your floors.
I looked around a little bit at a website and I learned that I gravitate toward the natural stone flooring. I absolutely love the look of these tiles. They are distinctive and they have a varied appearance that makes them look just gorgeous. They say no two tiles are ever the same. That’s the thing that makes this flooring so beautiful! I could totally see this flooring in my kitchen and bathrooms. I would be one happy mama, I tell you!
So…what’s your favorite ceramic tile?
How organized is your housecleaning operation? Do you fly by the seat of your pants, doing the things that grab you as you see they need doing or are you more structured about it?
The way you clean your house depends on a few things. Your family size will definitely dictate how much time it takes to maintain your home. Your family’s lifestyle also plays a part. A family whose members leave the home all day for work and school will not need to spend as much time cleaning as those who use their home all day by staying home (hello homeschoolers! I’m talking to you!). Your desired level of cleanliness also factors in here — do you need to be able to eat off the floor? Or, can you deal with a little clutter and dust? One last factor is TIME. How much time do you have to spend on your house? The time issue can be solved if you split up chores amongst all the family members.
If you’re thinking a housecleaning schedule might work for your family, give it a go. Here’s an easy way to start:
- Get a calendar with boxes you can write in.
- Write down your major house cleaning events — like cleaning the basement and the refrigerator — in the boxes. These might be bimonthly or monthly tasks.
- Make a list of your daily and weekly chores and note how much time each chore takes and how often you do them.
- Now plug your daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks into the calendar. Suddenly it becomes organized and manageable!
- Keep your calendar in a central spot where the whole family can use it. You could even assign the tasks to family members by color coding them, if you want.
Thanks for the post, Arthur Lawrence
I am not the type of person that can tell a person exactly what I think of them if it is at all negative. Now if it is my husband or my children that is a different story. But, I am talking about the judges that I see on American Idol that we got when we signed up for http://www.direct.tv/. This past year was not as bad as previous years. When that guy Simon was on the show he was just so mean to everyone. I think he spent most of every show trying to find the meanest thing he could think of to say to every contestant. And he did not seem to care what they thought about him when he would make those mean comments. Since Simon left the show to go on to yet another singing competition program, the new judges have seemed to show more kindness towards the contestants. They don’t try to break them down as in years past. I guess they try to let them down easy. Although some of the people trying out for the show are so terrible, I don’t see how they can be as nice to them as they are. It is obvious that the terrible singers are put on there to boost the ratings. But a lot of the time I actually fell embarrassed for the contestants.
Do you have a signature scent? My mother-in-law was one of the first people who impressed this on me, many years ago. She always wore an Estee Lauder scent and it was definitely her signature. For years and years, this scent preceded her and enveloped her and I always thought it was really neat.
Then…horrors…Estee Lauder discontinued her scent. She floundered for a while, searching for something else to replace her beloved scent. I even remember trying to scour the Internet for her, looking for somewhere to buy it, to no avail.
She eventually gave up and adopted something else…not sure what it was…maybe Elizabeth Arden perfume or something equally enjoyable. Anyway, this is worth pondering.
Do you have a scent that defines you or do you jump around to various scents depending on your mood or destination?

The shortest month of the year…so how come it tends to feel like the longest? My guess is that this is because winter is dragging and we’re tired of the cold. It’s not time for spring yet but winter won’t let go. We really can’t complain about this winter, though. Temperatures have been warm and snow has been scant. Makes me wonder if we’re in the clear or if we’re going to be blindsided by a whopper. February can be cold and snowy where I live, so I’m not letting my guard down.
Still…I’m dreaming of spring. Starting to think about planning the garden and getting back outside to dig in the muck. Starting to do some reorganizing and cleaning, getting ready for spring. Also taking advantage of the winter downtime and getting some sewing and other fun projects finished. If we use winter to rejuvenate and organize, it just makes the rest of the year that much more productive!
Seasons have reasons!
Wow — our temperature reached well up into the 50s today with abundant sunshine. The snow we’ve received over the past few weeks is patchy at best and we’ve got abundant mud everywhere. The kids were outside rolling in it today and the toddler discovered the joys of puddle jumping today. I’d say she had just as much fun out there tromping around as she would have if we had spent untold hundreds on one of those disney packages. All-in-all…a good day. Last day of January and it smells like spring in Wisconsin!
America’s Legal System

I don’t live in California and I live a quiet life in the Midwest, so I don’t have a lot of personal experience with California criminal lawyers, but I imagine there are many people living on the West Coast who do.
If you find yourself on the wrong side of the law, you may be wondering how to hire a Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer . I imagine you don’t have a lot of room for mistakes, so hiring the best lawyer you can afford will be important for your defense. These are the professionals who have the knowledge and expertise to help minimize your troubles and get you back on the right track.
Our legal system gives everyone a fair shot — innocent until proven guilty and trial by peers, right? Sure, it can be easy to have strong opinions about our legal system and all its foibles from the comfort of your home. I’m quite sure that if you ever find yourself navigating this legal system, you’ll be thankful for the constitutional rights our founding fathers made sure we have. No, it’s not perfect…but Americans are a lot better off than people in many other countries and we should try to remember this often.
Outfit Your Home With an Address Plaque
Posted by Admin on January 26th, 2012 filed in DecoratingComment now »
I have found that sometimes spending a little time on oft-overlooked details of your home is a great way to set your home apart and make it really pop. Take your address plaque, for example. Have you thought about your house numbers at all lately?
Address plaques sit on the front of your house, identifying it for the world to see. They are necessary identification, but they can also be an effective way to add charm and interest to your exterior home.
Imaginative and unusual address signs might seem like an unnecessary extravagance, but when your goal is to create a high-profile and high-quality home with curb appeal, don’t skimp on this little detail.
You can also have a lot of fun shopping for house address plaques. There is something out there that will suit any taste and decor scheme. Bungalows, stately brick, basic siding and log homes — these are just off the top of my head — but there would be something there that would fit each of these house styles.
Have fun shopping to outfit your home — it’s so worth it!
My son just became a first-time dad a little over six months ago. While it’s understandable that most of the focus is on the new mom, I don’t think it’s right to forget about daddies…especially brand new ones enjoying the process of parenthood for the first time.
I think it’s a good idea to send new dad gifts to remember the contribution of new daddies. Many new dads are heavily involved in the whole process, midnight feedings and diaper changes and all. Why not extend a special wish of congratulations to them, too?
